Beta Delta brothers fondly remember Ski Shack, the small out building which was originally used for coal storage, then ski storage and then living space starting in the 1960s. Over the years, Ski Shack had deteriorated from hard use. The foundation was cracked and settled and the brick veneer was pulling away from the wood framework. The tile roof had been removed and replaced with asphalt shingles during the 1970s to help preserve the main house tile roof.

Plans were made several years ago to repair and renovate Ski Shack, however, the cost proved to be prohibitive. So, the decision was made to replace 300 square foot Old Ski Shack with 1400 square foot New Ski Shack. New Ski Shack will boast three bedrooms and bathroom for brothers plus a one bedroom and bathroom suite for a House Director who will manage active chapter and house business. It will include in-floor heating and be faced with bricks salvaged from Old Ski Shack and a tile roof to match the House.

The cost for New Ski Shack is $325,000. To date, utility infrastructure (electrical, gas, water, sewer) has been completed as well as the foundation and slab. The structure itself must wait for generous donations from brothers to make it a reality.
